Photograph Multiple Poster Questions

How important are UV-protectant photo frames when hanging up autographed posters? Do I absolutely NEED them?
I’m planning on hanging up some autographed posters on my bedroom wall. They aren’t worth hundreds and hundreds of dollars, but I like them, and it’s not as though I want them to be ruined. How important is it that I frame them with UV-protectant glass? I normally keep my window blinds closed, and the posters are signed with permanent marker, but I’m just curious. I hear a lot of people talking about how photographs/art can fade when exposed to sunlight, etc, but I’ve always had multiple posters on my wall since childhood, and I never noticed any significant color fading over the years. Of course, they weren’t autographed. Thoughts?
Fading from UV rays is inevitable, and yes, permanent marker can fade as well. UV glass is a must if you want to protect your artwork. I use it on ALL of my framed pieces no matter how inexpensive. If it is something you treasure, then it is worth the price. Also, if you “outgrow” your posters and want to reuse the glass later for other pieces, it can be cut down and reused. You can save money and protect other projects that you want framed later on. It is worth it!
3 Quick Changing Framing Systems to Boost Your Business
Whether you use it to display posters, signs, announcements or advertisements, the right kind of frame will lend credibility to your business. After all, how you present information is nearly as important as the information itself.
The problem with many framing systems used in the business environment is that changing displays can be time consuming and expensive. Some framing systems look great once your signs, photographs, and posters are inside of them, but getting your materials out and changing them up is a big deal, sometimes involving dismantling the entire fixture! This process could also be costly, too, if you’re hiring someone to do it for you – especially if you have lots of frames and multiple locations.
If you are leaving your displays up for long periods of time because updating them regularly is a hassle, you may want to consider replacing your display fixtures. Fresh, frequent communication with your customers is critical. Even though it may seem like a minor detail, the wrong display fixture – either one whose content never changes or one that doesn’t fit or enhance your décor – could negatively impact your business.
The best display frames are easy to use. Changing your graphic materials should take seconds, leaving you with more time to focus on building your business. This article will help you find a changeable display frame to meet your needs, providing you with an overview of the three main kinds of quick-changing display frames that can be used by all kinds of businesses, including retailers, wholesalers, schools, hospitals, offices, restaurants, trade shows, and military facilities.
Swing Frames
SwingFrames are swing-open display fixtures with discrete hinge and locking mechanisms that don’t detract from the frame or graphic materials on display. To the uninitiated viewer, SwingFrames look like picture frames: once mounted to a wall, you can’t tell that it swings open. To change your display, SwingFrame users can simply open the frame without removing it from the wall.
Snap Frames
Snap Frames, also called SwingSnaps, are front-loading display fixtures in which all four frame sides snap open, allowing easy access to the graphic materials on display. Once mounted to the wall, graphics are loaded in the front of the frame and are held tightly in place by spring-loaded stainless steel clips, keeping the display secure and wrinkle free.
Top / Side Load Frames
The most economical of these quick-changing display fixtures, top load frames are simple aluminum and wood poster displays that have a slot on the top of the fixture that allows users to drop in their graphics. Top load frames can be used by any kind of business, but are especially popular with POP and display manufacturers and imaging and printing companies. A variation on the top load frame is the side load frame, in which the slot is located on the side of the frame instead of the top.
SwingFrames, SwingSnaps, and Top / Side Load Frames are available in a wide range of standard and custom sizes, styles and finishes. Choosing the right framing system can save you money and be a boon for your business. Learning about the different models available is an important first step to figuring out which style makes the most sense for you. Armed with the right information, you can find a frame that will meet your display and budget needs.
